After completing Ph. D. (Horticulture) from University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore in 2014, Dr. Deepu Mathew has joined Defence Research and Development Organization as Scientist – B. At Field Research Laboratory, Leh, he was involved in designing low cost greenhouses suited for extreme cold arids, vegetable breeding for cold tolerance and characterization of genes for cold tolerance. Subsequently, he moved to Kerala Agricultural University and presently involved in teaching and research in Plant Biotechnology. He did first post-doctoral research at Volcani Centre (Israel) in Characterization of LEAFY and FT genes involved in flowering in Narcissus and second post-doc from Purdue University (USA) in Genome Wide Association Studies for tassel traits in maize. Dr. Mathew is an Associate Fellow of National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS), New Delhi and member of National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI).
