PG Programmes
a) Ph.D.
- Ph.D. programme in Biotechnology : Admission started from 2009 onwards - Number of seats - 4
- The members of the faculty of CPBMB act as major advisor or Co-Guide for Ph.D. programme in Biotechnology offered by other universities. The faculty members also act as advisory committee members in various disciplines of PhD programme in the faculty of agriculture.
- Offer Molecular Biology and Biotechnology courses included in the curriculum of Ph.D in the departments of Plant Breeding & Genetics, Plantation Crops & Spices, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Plant Physiology etc.
b) M.Sc.
Students are enrolled for MSc Plant Biotechnology through all India JNU& ICAR entrance exam. International students were also enrolled through agency of Indian Council for Cultural Relations.
Since 2003, a total of 118 students have enrolled and 94 have successfully completed the PG program. PG programme of 20 students are ongoing.
c) M.Tech. Biotechnology
A five year integrated programme – M.Tech in Biotechnology has been started from 2009 onwards. 20 students were admitted per year in College of Agriculture, KAU, Vellayani.
Research facilities for students outside KAU
Research facility is extended for project work as part of M.Sc./ PhD. programme of students from other institutions / Universities on payment basis. Contact cpbmb@kau.in for more details.
PG Courses
As per the ICAR/DBT approved syllabus for PG in 2009: Students have to complete course work and research work for their Master's / Doctoral programme in Plant Biotechnology.
