Dr. Flemine Xavier

Dr. Flemine Xavier has completed her graduation in Agriculture from Kerala Agricultural University, College of Horticulture, Vellanikkara, Post-Graduation and PhD in Horticulture with Major Area as Olericulture from ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi. She secured 3rd rank in JRF for her post-graduation and 1st rank for her PhD entrance of ICAR-IARI. Her Doctoral research work was on “Inheritance of yield and quality traits and interspecific hybridization in okra (Abelmoschus esculentus (L) Moench.” Her areas of research were focused on hybrid seed production, protected cultivation in pumpkin hybrid and breeding for yield and quality traits in okra. She has experience in teaching as Assistant Professor on Contract at College of Agriculture at Padannakkad for eight months and 5.5 years’ experience in research. She has published 9 publications including book chapters, research papers, study materials etc. Her extension experience includes the tenure as Agricultural Officer in Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Kerala for three years. Currently, she in charge of vegetable production, seed production and protected cultivation trials of AICRP on Vegetable Crops.
