Dr. Jayasree Krishnankutty

Dr. Jayasree Krishnankutty has taken up a number of research projects aimed at rural women empowerment, SHGs and micro entrepreneurship development, small holder marketing, NRM and sustainable agriculture and conservation of traditional knowledge. Market led extension has been one of her priority areas and she has co authored a book on “ market led extension – dimensions and tools” which is recommended as a reference book for post graduate students in Agricultural Extension by ICAR. She has also authored chapters in a number of books. She has been the coordinator for capacity building programs on Agricultural Marketing for farmers, women groups and lately, officers from the state Marketing Board, Maharashtra. She has been the course director for an ICAR sponsored winter school on Market led extension, meant for scientists from all over India. Dr. Jayasree has attended and presented cases in international training programs on Market access for smallholders held in the Netherlands, Ghana, Vietnam and South Africa which have helped greatly in her teaching and research work. Recognized as a resource person with good credentials she has handled over 300 sessions on various personality development topics to different audience. Currently she is the Principal Investigator for a collaborative project with University of Western Australia on Traditional rice and conservation of traditional knowledge.
