Dr Krishnaja U.

Dr. Krishnaja U, a distinguished academic and researcher, joined Kerala Agricultural University, as Assistant Professor in March 2019. With nearly a decade of diverse experience in dietetics, nutrition, and research, she has significantly contributed to both academia and the professional community. Prior to her current role, Dr. Krishnaja served as a Dietitian, Nutritionist, Research Associate, and External Faculty, including a tenure as an Assistant Professor at Government College for Women, Vazhuthacaud, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Completed her BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics from RVS College of Arts and Science, under Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu; obtained MSc in Foods & Nutrition from PSG College of Arts and Science, under Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu and PhD in Home Science (Food Science and Nutrition) from College of Agriculture, Vellayani, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, under Kerala Agricultural University. Dr. Krishnaja demonstrated academic excellence throughout her educational journey, securing the University first rank in all her college programs. Her specialization and area of interest includes Functional foods, Nutraceuticals, value addition of ethnic crops, product development, lifestyle disease management etc..She has many Research and popular articles in National and International journals and also book chapters to her credit (https://scholar.google.com/citations?hl=en&user=astpO1AAAAAJ, https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Krishnaja-U). Dr Krishnaja, has won best paper awards in national conferences. She has guided around 21 PG scholars (4 ongoing) and 02 ongoing PhD Scholars. She is the PI and Co-PI of several ongoing and completed external aided projects. She is a committed academician with a genuine interest to keep learning, she continues to devote time and effort to make herself more effective as a teacher. She keeps updating herself with the latest knowledge in her discipline and likes to interact with the students on contemporary issues and topics. Passionate about her work, she sets realistic goals and displays professionalism in her undertakings. She is a quick learner who can absorb new ideas and adapt to new challenges. She is a member of various National bodies like NSI, IDA, Eat Right Kerala, NetProFan etc. She is the Convenor of NSI, Trivandrum Chapter. She is the Master trainer for Spices and plantation crops under ODOP – PMFME scheme. Dr Krishnaja’s Radio talks, Television programs, Educational videos, Trainings imparted to public and skilled entrepreneurs are proof for her adept external credentials. She has been invited as Resource Person to many national seminars, symposiums and workshops. Dr. Krishnaja U., stands out as a dedicated academician and researcher with a profound passion for her field. She is actively involved in diverse activities of the institute and holds responsible positions.
