Six agri-startups incubated under the KAU R-ABI (Raftaar Agribusiness Incubator) at Kerala Agricultural University have been selected for national recognition at a high-level meeting convened by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare. The meeting, held on July 7 in New Delhi and chaired by the RKVY Advisor, aimed to honour outstanding incubators and agri-startups nurtured through the RKVY-RAFTAAR initiative.
The Hon’ble Minister recently visited the state-of-the-art Agribusiness Incubator at KAU, Thrissur, and was highly impressed by its advanced food processing technologies and infrastructure supporting innovation in agriculture, including drone technology. He particularly appreciated the Common Incubation Facility, which enables the processing of rice, spices, wine, and fruits & vegetables—offering budding entrepreneurs access to cutting-edge infrastructure and hands-on support. This pioneering initiative by KAU is empowering the next generation of agri-food startups.
National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), in collaboration with Kerala Agricultural University conducted a one day program on “Agri-StartUp Stakeholders Connect – Fostering Collaboration & Partnerships” on 20th June 2025 at Central Auditorium, Kerala Agricultural University, Thrissur. The focus of the program is to support Agri-startups by creating a platform to connect them with the primary agriculture stakeholders of the state.
The Department of Agronomy, College of Agriculture, Vellanikkara, organized a Millet Harvest Festival as part of the Network Project for Enhancing Millet Cultivation in Kerala through Technological Interventions. The project aims to develop a low-input package for millet cultivation across various agro-ecological zones of Kerala, promoting sustainable farming practices.
Volunteers participated in a rally in Madakkathara panchayath and performed a flash mob at North bus station, Thrissur, to popularise the message of the Say No to drug campaign.
In connection with the State government’s anti-drug campaign christened “ Lahari Mukta Keralam” Say No to Drugs, the NSS unit organised various programmes to educate people about the risks and consequences of abusing drugs.
